Im from Louisville, but go to school up by Cinci and had no idea they were tearing down part of the skatepark. Do you know why? Just renovations?
The city is building a new bridge across the river in addition to the I65 bridge that is already there and the 2nd street bridge.
They tore down the full pipe and the big bowl and that whole “pro section” and tore up the road that ran behind the skatepark to make way for the bridge supports and on/off ramps.
Apparently they are going to rebuild everything but it’s going to be over to the right where that big feed grain silo is. The guys that own Home posted the proposed plan for the park and it looks pretty cool, skates and BMXers are pretty excited about it because it’s going to have more street ramps and some wooden stuff, hips and pyramids.
I don’t think its’ going to be done until next summer though. But the park is still open!
